Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! Have a spook-tacular holiday today.  Enjoy the spooky, creepy goblins and ghouls.  Have fun going trick-or-treating, whether for yourself or with your family.  Enjoy the parties if you're going out those, and remember also to be responsible with all the good times and do all you can to avoid those that don't enjoy their time responsibly.  We all want to get home safely and in one piece.  Happy Halloween.  BOO!!!

Blender Tutorial: Pot O' Gold

Top o' the mornin' to you! Happy St. Patty's Day from Animation for All, and in the spirit of the occasion, we'll be making an animated scene featuring a pot o' gold at the end of a rainbow.  In this scene we'll be using the following methods to get the final result:
Modeling the objects, meaning the pot, the gold, and the rainbow.
Adding special effects through animated textures, materials, and compositing on the final render.
Setting up a particle system and having it follow the rainbow object.
Stay tuned toward the end of the tutorial to see how the particle system was set up, and let me know your thoughts on how it was done, and perhaps how you might have done it.  Leave feedback in the comments section below.  Thanks!

Animation Tutorial: Keyframe Basics

Hello animators out there! I've been wanting to tackle this one for a while, and for those of you who are just starting out, this tutorial is for you, or rather, this is a demonstration of keyframes and how they relate to the animated sequence. We start out with points A and B, and then the program does the work in the other frames, or what is called 'tweening' (no, this doesn't refer to being 12 years old). The number of frames between the two keys determines how fast the animation will be. More frames means longer and slower, fewer frames means shorter and faster. Multiple keyframes can be added to affect timing or direction of the object being animated. The computer still does the tweening for you. These are some basics that you can see in the video posted above.

Animation Tutorial: Keyframe Basics with Rotation

Hello aspiring animators once again from Animation for All! This episode is a follow-up of our last episode where we talked about the very basics of keyframes in animation.

Blender 2.70 Release

Happy first day of spring, and the release of Blender 2.70! In this latest release of Blender, a lot of new features have been added to the already great program.  One of the biggest topics of conversation about this release of Blender is the improved user interface (UI).  Some really great features are multi-renaming, easier eye-dropper tool with the materials, tabs in the toolbox, and the prompt before closing the scene.  Check it out at http://www.blender.org!

Blender Tutorial: Heart Throb

Love is in the air in the month of February.  Valentine's Day is the day that there is that sweet, special someone, and what better way to show someone you love them than with some sort of Valentine greeting?
